Between 22–25 September 2025, the final mobility event of our Twinning Together project took place, which also marked one of the most important milestones of the programme. The aim of the meeting was for the participating organizations to jointly evaluate the results achieved so far, further strengthen their cooperation, and prepare the continuation of the project in the future. In addition to the cities already working together – Nyíregyháza, Szatmárnémeti and Rzeszów – representatives of two new partner towns, Ungvár and Nagykapos, also attended the mobility event as invited observers. The involvement of organizations from these two cities was particularly important, as in the next phase of the project our goal is to establish a long-term youth cooperation connecting five cities.
On the first day, participants got to know each other and received a detailed presentation about the processes, results, and experiences of the project so far. This phase also provided an opportunity for the newly joining organizations to gain a comprehensive understanding of the initiative’s objectives and methodology, as well as to ask questions and share their own experiences.
The second day focused on collecting the opinions and suggestions of young people. Based on the results of the questionnaire that had been previously developed and conducted during the project, the participants jointly formulated remarks and recommendations for local and regional decision-makers. During the group work sessions, young people actively discussed opportunities for strengthening twinning cooperation, youth participation, and the development of community initiatives. The aim of these proposals was to ensure that the voices of young people are more strongly represented in decision-making processes.
On the third day, a particularly important organizational step took place: the participants developed the organizational and operational regulations of the Twinning Youth Coordination Council. During the joint work, they defined the council’s goals, tasks, operational framework, and the basic principles of cooperation among members. This was followed by a democratic vote on the composition of the leadership. Based on a unanimous decision by the participants, the organization elected two co-presidents, reflecting the spirit of cooperation built on partnership and equality.
Reviewing the learning processes was also an important part of the programme. Participants reflected together on the skills and experiences they had gained during the project, and the role of Youthpass was also discussed, as it helps recognize and make visible the competences acquired through non-formal learning.
According to the final evaluations and feedback, the participants implemented a very active, inspiring, and useful project. The young people not only built new international connections but also experienced the importance of joint thinking, democratic decision-making, and community participation. The mobility event also gave new momentum to future cooperation, which can now continue with the active involvement of young people from five cities.
